Sunderland Remembrance Service and Parade
Sunderland will pay its respects at the annual Remembrance Parade and Service
Join us in paying tribute to the service personnel and veterans from Sunderland and beyond at this year's Remembrance Parade and Service.
The parade will set off from the top of Burdon Road at 10:35 am, led by the Bearpark and Esh Colliery Band. Regiments including the 4th Regiment Royal Artillery, Household Mounted Cavalry, and The Rifles will take part, alongside local veterans and community groups.
As tradition, the 4th Regiment Royal Artillery will provide two field guns to mark the start of the two-minute silence at 11:00 am. This will be followed by the laying of wreaths around the war memorial and on the memorial wall.
The parade will end in a march past of veterans and serving members of His Majesty's Forces.
Those attending the service at the war memorial in Burdon Road are advised to dress for the weather and be in place by 10.15 am.
