The Church Door Spirits & Wine Bar recently opened in West Sunniside. It has been lovingly converted from what used to be the Backhouse & Co. Bank in 1870. Prior to it's conversion it had lain empty for many years.

The Church Door is a cosy bar with very high ceilings and original features such as the beams and stone walls which make it a very unique bar in Sunderland. It may well be the smallest bar in Sunderland with a maximum capacity of 38 customers! Visit The Church Door and enjoy a fine selection of premium spirits, cocktails and wines.
