The Engine Room at The Fire Station (night)
Positioned in Sunderland's Cultural quarter, The Engine Room at The Fire Station was recently converted from the city's former fire station. The bar and bistro serve a delicious selection of food and drinks in a quirky setting displaying much of the original paraphernalia from the original working station.
With a name that pays homage at the venue's past incarnation as a Fire Station, this is a must-visit eatery at the heart of the city's rejuvenated cultural quarter. It is packed with original features like fire buckets and helmets but it's anything but old-hat! With an internationally-inspired menu, serving up favourites like steak and flatbread pizzas, as well as handmade gelato and beautiful frozen martinis, food and drink-lovers from Sunderland have been flocking to the Engine Room since it opened its doors.
