The Queen Through Time Trail

Celebrate 70 years of the Queen's reign by exploring events that happened over the past seven decades through objects and stories in the Museum galleries and Winter Gardens. Answer the questions and return your completed trail to museum reception to claim a prize.
Trails are £2.50 per person and can be purchased from the Museum Shop.
Wednesday 1 June
Platinum Jubilee Coasters
1.30pm - 3pm
Join artist Sue Woolhouse to create your own Platinum Jubilee inspired fused glass coaster with crowns, flags or tea party symbols. Tickets are £5 per person. Suitable for ages 7+. Places must be pre-booked at sunderlandmuseum.org.uk or the Museum Shop.

A Curious Jubilee with Curious Arts
11am - 2pm
Experience Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens like the Queen on a royal visit, as the museum gets Curious in celebration of Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee. Craft a crown for your very own coronation, officially re-open the Winter Gardens, search the museum for the mysterious contents of the Queen's handbag and much more. Join us for A Curious Jubilee, where everyone can be themselves, be royal for the day and you might even meet a queen!

Pyrex100: A Right Royal Celebration
See community displays of Pyrex to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee including garden party tea sets and celebration themed designs.

Jubilee Postboxes: a Sunderland Schools Art Project
10am-4pm
Pupils from Sunderland schools have been working with artists and organisations to design postboxes to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Each design is unique and inspired by the Queen's connections to Sunderland. There are 12 postboxes, each with a hidden crown.
