In conversation with Dr Laura Fish: Lying Perfectly Still - Monday 11th November 6.30 - 7.30pm Creative Smart City Hub @ Washington Library, Independence Square, Washington NE38 7SD.Be part of this exciting event where Newcastle-based author, Dr Laura Fish, will be discussing her newly released novel, Lying Perfectly Still,a gripping work of literary fiction which explores misconduct and exploitation by aid workers during the 90s AIDS crisis in Africa.Laura Fish is an award-winning writer of Caribbean heritage, based in Newcastle. She is a graduate of the MA in Creative Writing programme and PhD in Creative and Critical Writing, both from the University of East Anglia. Her first novel, Flight of Black Swans, received excellent reviews in The Guardian, the Evening Standard, and Times Literary Supplement. Her second novel, Strange Music, has been listed for several awards.Since 2014, Laura has been employed at Northumbria University as Assistant Professor in the Humanities department. She also has over 10 years' experience with the BBC in broadcast television and radio in news, current affairs, features and light entertainment.
