City Hall

As a symbol of civic pride standing at the heart of Sunderland's new business district, City Hall is the Council's contemporary new HQ building designed to reflect an ambitious and dynamic vision.

Named 'Best of the Best UK Office' and bringing together all public support services under one roof, this modern, 191,000 sq ft  building sits proud (and prominent) within Riverside Sunderland overlooking the River Wear. It is home to the City Council, the Department for Work and Pensions, Sunderland College and Gentoo.

As well as a providing premium office space, City Hall is also a popular events and commercial space for civic and business functions, as well as an accessible meeting place for local industry groups, forums and community organisations. Its central location, only minutes from retail, leisure and cultural areas, also provides excellent accessibility and connectivity to main transport links.

City Hall is testament to the transformation and positive change that Sunderland has witnessed over recent years and will continue to drive forward and position, with purpose, Sunderland as an ambitious and forward-thinking city on the up.
