Delivering the Future City 2025

Sunderland City Council is excited to announce the return of its Delivering the Future City conference on 14 and 15 October 2025 at City Hall, Sunderland as part of Sunderland Business Week.

Delivering the Future City

The eagerly awaited event, which is now in its third year, is the annual highlight of the Expo Sunderland programme and brings together government, business leaders, industry experts, investors, developers, and leading professional voices, to debate the key topics influencing the growth of key cities such as Sunderland and share knowledge and best practice from other cities and regions.

This year's event, which is being delivered in partnership with the University of Sunderland and the British Council of Offices, will feature a series of key note speeches, panel debates and roundtable discussions that explore the barriers and opportunities in delivering local, regional and national growth ambitions with a particular focus on planning reform, housing delivery, community building, infrastructure provision, city centre activation, and the skills needed for the future workforce.

Mark Easton, Home Editor at the BBC will expertly guide the event with some 20 keynote speakers and panellists and a conference audience of 150+ industry leaders each day.
