Active Sunderland BIG Walk

Whether you're taking your first steps to moving more, a fun activity with the family or looking to step up to a personal challenge, we have a route that's right for you. You could even think about walking to raise money for your favourite cause!

Choose from:

• 3 mile circular route around Herrington Country Park accompanied by fun activities and Active Sunderland staff - perfect for families and young children.

Those who don't want to do the activities can follow the signs and complete the route on their own / in their own group.  

• 6 mile route especially for beginners
• 9 mile route for more experienced walkers
• 13.5 mile route for experienced walkers to challenge themselves and maybe even set a personal best

2025 entry prices:

• Adult £7.50
• Adult with a T shirt £12
• Child £7.50 (includes a t shirt)
• Child aged 5-8 plus an accompanying adult £12.50 (child t shirt only)
