This half term, the Bridges in Sunderland is inviting young adventurers on a thrilling journey through time with Myths, Monarchs, and Mayhem—a week of free, interactive events exploring fascinating periods in history!

Join us for an exciting series of activities where children can learn, create, and have fun while uncovering the mysteries of the past.

From royal courts to ancient tombs and mighty empires,there's something for every little historian!

Monday 24 February | 11 AM-1PM
Royal Tudors and Stuarts Step into the world of the Tudors and Stuarts and discover what life was like in these historic times. Activities include:

• Exploring Tudor food and uncovering gruesome facts.
• Creating a storyboard of the Great Fire of London.
• Drawing Queen Elizabeth I and colouring a Tudor rose.
• Learning some traditional Tudor dances!

Wednesday 26 February | 11 AM-1PM
Ancient Egyptians Travel back thousands of years to explore the wonders of Ancient Egypt! Children can:

• Discover ancient Egyptian gods and create their own.
• Learn about hieroglyphics and design a personalized bookmark.
• Decode Egyptian words and draw Tutankhamun's golden mask.

Friday 28 February | 11 AM-1PM
Rotten Romans Step into the sandals of a Roman and experience the might of the empire! Activities include:

• Learning fun facts about Roman life and taking part in Roman role-play.
• Creating a Roman soldier cartoon character.
• Designing and decorating a sword and shield.
• Learning Roman numerals and performing a Roman dance.

The event is aimed at primary school children,with a soft play area available for younger children.

No need to book—just turn up on the day! Spaces are first come, first served.

Participants will also have the chance to enter a competition to win a family ticket to see Horrible Histories Live on Stage - The Awful Egyptians at the Sunderland Empire in March.
