Songs of the North East
Celebrating the music of the North East.
International opera stars Graeme Danby and Valerie Reid celebrate the music of the North East with songs and ballads dating from the 1800s to the present day.
Songs include Blow the Wind Southerly, Waters of Tyne and The Keel Row alongside more contemporary compositions such as Eric Boswell's Birds Fly High, Sailing to Philadelphia by Mark Knopfler and Sting's The Last Ship.
Audiences will hear the stories behind the songs while the music itself is sung by artists who have performed on the great stages of the world. They are joined at the piano by Andrew Richardson in a show written and produced by Graeme Thompson and Tom Kelly.
