Prior electricity consumption

Grant paid
BREEZ paid £25,000 in grant which was matched by the company to carry out the works.
The old inefficient energy systems were replaced with a roof mounted solar PV system sized at 75.68kWp, covering a total area of circa 349m2. The improvements included all solar modules, inverters, cabling and switches, on-roof containment and a generation meter. These were installed by New Energy & Building Services Solutions. The services provided included design, submitting the DNO application and installation, testing and commissioning of the system in accordance with MIS3002.
Savings
After adjusting projected costs and benefits for inflation, and applying a discount rate of 4%, the initial system cost of £58,320.00 is expected to be recouped after 4 years.
The system is expected to generate 59427 kWh per year initially, decreasing gradually as the solar cells degrade. Over the 25 year term of this financial projection the total generation is expected to be 1396360 kwh, of which 1396360 kWh will be consumed on site and 0 kWh exported.
The projected energy savings over 25 years is £35952.90.
Further benefits
Other businesses on site have benefitted from the installation including Edible Inks and Easy Chill Ltd.
