Adam Strong

Sunderland-born musical theatre star Adam Strong is currently starring as Jafar in Disney's touring production of Aladdin.

Adam, who trained at The London School of Musical Theatre, has performed all over the World.

He recently got the chance to spend some time in the city, when the show visited Sunderland Empire as part of its 17 month UK and Ireland tour.

"I have performed here previously with other shows but it's been wonderful to be back in this amazing show at this fantastic venue," said Adam.

"It's been nice to be back near the coast, we've not really been by the seaside on the tour and when you've grown up with it you miss it a lot when you're inland, it's just really nice to be back.

"I love walking and I live quite close to Penshaw Monument so it's nice to be able to walk up there again and enjoy some free time whenever I get it. I also love to get a little cake the farm shop and head up there."

As well as Aladdin, Adam has been in shows such as the world arena tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar and the UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. He has also starred in Rock of Ages, We Will Rock You and Made in Dagenham.
