Nordic Walking - Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve, car park, DH4 6PU

Nordic Walking is a walking technique that uses specially designed Nordic Walking Poles to help work your upper body as well as your legs. Our Nordic Walk at Rainton Meadows lasts for 90 minutes and covers a variety of terrain including woodland, small hills, climbing of stiles etc, therefore not all of the route is accessible.

Anyone thinking of joining the group should have a good level of fitness as our walk is intermediate/advanced, however training would be provided on the use of poles and we can provide poles to help get you started. We recommend walkers wear walking boots, as it can get quite wet and muddy, to wear suitable layers of clothing to keep warm and dry, and to bring along a bottle of water.

Nordic Walking is a great way to get outdoors, meet new people, and to get a whole body workout.
